Friendship, MD is just as pleasant as the name of the city indicates! This town, located in Anne Arundel County, is beloved thanks to its community atmosphere and balmy spring and summer weather. However, the snow and ice during the winter make it tough to affordably heat a home! If you’re a Friendship, MD homeowner, you’re in luck. Friendship, MD is a cozy community of just under 500 residents located on the southern edge of Anne Arundel County near Annapolis and Prince Frederick. While the name of the town might seem like it would have an interesting history, the town is only named Friendship because of the Friendship Methodist Church that stood near the Friendship Airport. European settlers initially occupied the Friendship area thanks to the estuary once located at Elkridge Landing.

One of the most notable landmarks in Friendship, MD is Holly Hill. Holly Hill is a historic house that is sometimes called Rose Valley or Holland’s Hills. The home was a two-room home built in the late 1600s. Over time, a few additions were constructed to expand on the original structure. Holly Hill is an excellent example of Medieval Transitional architecture, and it sat on the plantation of Richard Harrison. The house stayed in the Harrison family until the mid-1800s. The home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It remains one of the oldest buildings in Maryland to this day.

Today, Friendship, MD residents love the small-town feel and history of the area. If you are a Friendship, MD homeowner searching for a more cost-effective way to heat your home during the ice and snow-filled Maryland winters, Husky Heating Oil can help.
