Galesville, MD is a charming community in Anne Arundel County and considered to be the birthplace of Quakerism in Maryland. Residents of the town love its rich history and pleasant spring weather, but winter can bring frigid temperatures and plenty of snow. Thankfully, if you are a Galesville, MD homeowner, you are in luck. Husky Heating Oil provides the Galesville community with cost-effective, clean burning heating oil throughout the winter.

Galesville, MD was one of the first Quaker settlements in the United States. European settlers initially arrived in Galesville around the mid-17th century. The area was very fertile, and many settlers were wealthy thanks to abundant tobacco crops and the convenient location on the Rhode and West Rivers. In the late 1600s, the founder of Quakerism visited the area and held a four-day meeting. Later in the 17th century, a meeting house was erected to host Quaker events.

Galesville also was the location of Tulip Hill, a historic house considered a National Historic Landmark. Tulip Hill is a plantation home that is an excellent example of Georgian mansion architecture. The house was constructed during the late 1700s and purchased by Samuel Galloway in 1755. The home hosted George Washington in 1771, and the property remained in the Galloway family until the mid-1800s.

Galesville once played an important role in the steamship line that ran from Baltimore to Annapolis and served as a terminus. While the town no longer hosts steamships, it is a vibrant community of local fisherman and those who enjoy pleasure boating. The waterfront location makes it perfect for enjoying all that Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay has to offer.

If you are a Galesville, MD homeowner searching for an affordable way to heat your home during the snow and sleet-filled Maryland winters, Husky Heating Oil can help. We take pride in offering high-quality heating oil backed up with excellent customer service and competitive pricing.
